To whoever claims they are very good Proton salesman
1997 Asian Financial Crisis
Proton was the second largest failure of Tun Dr. Mahathir, our prime minister of yesteryear. One of the other failures was ‘Vision 2020’ that claimed Malaysia would be an industrial nation by 2020.
Back in 1997 during the Asian Financial Crisis the economy was collapsing and the Ringgit (Malaysian currency) was devaluing at an alarming rate. The Mahathir government increased bank interest rates to about 12% to as high as 24%. Even Singapore was doing the same. They began to pull back car loans and house loans because many owners could not afford the high interest rates. AmBank had large areas of land, all over Klang Valley, allocated for parking repossessed cars. The currency had devalued to RM4.20 to US$1.00 when it was previously at RM2.50 to US$1.00/- and George Soros was trying to take it to RM4.50/- to the US dollar. People were saying that Mahathir’s debts could not be paid back even after 7 generations. He asked Indians to give their gold jewelries to the government. Shameful man when he was giving all scholarships and government grants to only the muslims. No Hindus, Buddhist, Christians and atheist benefited from Mahathir’s policies.
He was in Tokyo complaining to the whole world that no one predicted the stock market crash. That was when I began to write to him because I had. My letters are published on my blog. They would ask me question through New Straits Times (NST) and I would reply by sending letters to the editor of NST. I explained I had developed a mathematical theory of economics. Before my theories were published most economics was about verbose essays and with not much mathematical equations. I have revolutionized economics on my own without funding from the government or local institutions. The Securities Commission wanted to award me an “Investment Advisors License” for free after reading my letters to Mahathir. Unfortunately, that could not happen as I was a sole proprietor. Mahathir wanted me to transfer the mathematical models of economics to MTDC, the technology arm of UMNO (the ruling muslim political party). The Lord God told me not to do that.
Many solutions provided to stop economic collapse
I am the one who told Mahathir to bring the bank interest rates down, not to repossess cars and houses. Today they call it a bank moratorium and this moratorium is implemented all over the world. I explained money behaves like a fluid and many other theories which solves wave particle behavior in physics.
During the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, Proton was down to one shift, 4-day week and may have ceased operations completely and closed shop if I had not intervened. I explained how to revive the car market but today many Malays claim that they are the ones who saved Proton after I had done the work. Such shameful people. So, if you think you are an expert Proton car salesman remember I saved your job and your ass.
Mahathir never allowed anyone to acknowledge my theories because they were not under his or muslim control and claimed he saved Malaysia’s economy on his own. How shameful could he get. You know when the Great Recession of 2008 occurred in the USA, Malaysia’s Bank Negara sent a team to USA to help them. They returned 2 weeks later with their tails tucked underneath, that shows that the Americans were disgusted by them. It was after that the Americans turned to me for help.
Proton cars failure
Why am I telling you all this? It is because I want to show you something more dangerous. Mahathir saw the Chinese assembling cars, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volvo, Mercedes Benz, BMW cars and thought he too could beat the local Chinese by copying them. He created Proton to manufacture cars and raised taxes to almost 100% on other car brands. Obviously, people would only buy Proton cars because others were too expensive. So, if you think you are an expert Proton car salesman think again. I don’t think anyone would buy Proton if all the duties on other cars were removed.
Proton became a flop for very simple reasons. Firstly, they did not have their own engine. Just imagine the absurdity of it all. Calling yourself a car manufacturer without an engine. He was too busy passing out Malay (muslim) engineering graduates with no knowledge but with degrees. So many of them never amounted to anything in Proton. After 40 years they still don’t have a working engine that Malaysians could be proud of.
In the end Proton became a failing white elephant and Mahathir tried to sell the company to Western corporations. GM came, had a look and went back. Many car manufacturers came and then ran for their lives. In the end it was Geely Auto Group from China that took over Proton. They must have realized that the Proton engineers were duds so they had Volvo design an SUV and put the Proton label on it.
My experience of Proton cars
Now let me show you how bad Proton cars can be. A Proton knocked into the back of my 20 year old Honda CRV. I had stopped along the main road at my house gate to turn into my house when a Proton’s brakes failed and rammed into me from behind. Only the tyer cover and the bumper of my Honda CRV was dented. The Proton was a write off. The radiator cap flew off and the radiator was bent inwards. The engine could not be started and many parts in the engine compartment were damaged. Worst still the airbags did not inflate. Can you just imagine that? Air bags did not inflate to protect the driver and the engine compartment was broken. After 40 years this is what the Proton engineers have achieved?
Because they lie, cheat and swindle the innocent, the Malaysian economy is slowing failing.

PS. I am writing this article because there is a Proton car salesman on WhatsApp calling the Ukranians Nazi's and hurling filthy language at me for supporting Ukraine. He wrote about me to me and I quote his exact words "this particular BASTARD needs to learn his BITCHY lesson . . . I am going to troll this arsehole this kingdom com". That is very dangerous of him and I think he will try to destroy my livelihood. There is another guy who calls Ukranians Nazi's but has not used any filthy language on me nor threated me. Now I wonder whether it is Proton that is promoting Ukrainians as Nazis and Russians as heros, an anti Western philosophy.
